Our solar and energy storage projects are having a profound effect on America’s transition to clean energy–and we are grateful to the many land owners and supportive local community members who have come to know Urban Grid as good neighbors. 

As we aim to have a positive and lasting impact in every community that is home to an Urban Grid project, we are mindful of our responsibility to be stewards of the land and to make a difference for future generations.  

Community Impact Scholarship Program

The recently launched Urban Grid Community Impact Scholarship Program coincides with the substantial completion of Crystal Hill, Urban Grid’s first operational solar project in southern Virginia. $5,000 in scholarships will be awarded as new facilities become operational. In order to be qualified for a scholarship, you must be a high school senior, reside in a county where Urban Grid has an operating project, and plan to attend a community college or trade school. How can we support your community?

Environmental stewardship, educational programs and work force development are key pillars of the Urban Grid Gives program, where we give back in communities where we are actively developing and building renewable energy projects. Giving back locally is part of our team culture

"For more than 20 years I have been a participant or volunteer at the Sporting Clays Classic LHC, which benefits the outdoor recreation programs for the Laurel Highlands Council of the Boy Scouts of America. These outdoor programs provide the necessary resources to make sure every youth scout has the opportunity to benefit from Scouting's fun, exciting and adventure-filled activities that foster character development, leadership, and life-long values. The programs include: hiking, biking, kayaking, mountaineering, shooting, camping, rafting, geocaching, and fishing to name a few.

Urban Grid Gives enables me to continue to volunteer and to share my passion for the outdoors so valuable programs like this one can continue for future generations."
