JOB TITLE: Senior Design Engineer
JOB LOCATION: Richmond, VA or Stevensville, MD

A Senior Design Engineer is sought to help us progress our 2.5GW solar portfolio through to NTP, requiring the following knowledge and experience;

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • PV System Design; an expert using Helioscope, CAD and PVsyst in order to produce PV layouts, PVsysts, 8760s and all data required for permitting and interconnection processes
  • Optimization; an intimate familiarity and understanding of all system variables, equipment metrics, and their interaction in order to optimize output, also taking in to account TOD value
  • LCOE Consideration; ideally some additional experience including the equipment pricing function in order to maximize the LCOE

You will join a growing engineering team and coordinate with internal PMs and interconnection team, as well as external consultants, utilities and EPCs.

JOB TITLE: Utility Solar Site Acquisition Analyst

JOB LOCATION: Stevensville, MD

The primary responsibility of this position will be to identify potential sites for utility-scale solar. Secondary responsibilities will include market research, support for existing project management and ongoing project development.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze property data and GIS maps in markets to identify potential solar project sites
  • Monitor and analyze Interconnection queues
  • Perform project feasibility analysis
  • Coordinate and facilitate initial landowner contact for potential solar project sites
  • Use all relevant information to research and understand local communities where the company has a business interest
  • Assist with project development related research, including state and local permitting and regulatory processes
  • Establish, maintain and update project specific files, databases, records and other documents
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor ‘s Degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering or similar or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Position requires excellent organization skills, attention to detail and problem solving
  • Extensive experience with computer applications specifically GIS, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Professional and Excel
  • 1+ years of related experience in land use, real estate or environmental industries is preferable but not required
  • Must possess excellent and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly motivated, energetic and willing to learn new tasks quickly
  • Ambitious and interested in career growth within in the organization
  • Hard-working and able to prioritize a large task load in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in the solar industry and/or environmental policy is preferable but not require

JOB TITLE: Origination Analyst
JOB LOCATION: Richmond, VA

Urban Grid is currently seeking a highly motivated Analyst to with our Origination Team in Richmond, VA. This person will research renewable energy markets, compile target customer lists, create marketing materials, assist with proposal development and support the origination team. We are in search of candidates who are passionate about renewable energy and want to play a vital role in the continued growth of our company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and analyze demand in various markets
  • Identify potential customers and marketing opportunities
  • Provide background research on potential customers
  • Analyze customer energy data
  • Generate marketing materials
  • Assist with proposal development
  • Update and maintain database of potential customers by market

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a related industry
  • Strong interest in the field of renewable energy
  • Must possess excellent organization skills, attention to detail and problem solving
  • Strong research skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Excellent verbal, written, technical, and computer communication and presentation skills required
  • Quick learner, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, business, or another related field
