Urban Grid is committed to long term ownership of our solar projects, and therefore we take a very conservative approach to all transactions. Under an Urban Grid PPA, we design, install, own, and operate the solar installation. Our PPA provides customers with the opportunity to host a solar installation, without significant capital investment, and without distracting you from your core business. Urban Grid will handle all aspects of the development, finance, installation and operation of the solar project, leaving you to focus your energy and capital on your core business.
At Urban Grid, our interests are inherently aligned with those of the host customer. Our long term ownership strategy means that we are invested in the quality and long term operational performance of the installation.
Solar Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) are a financial agreement in which a third-party developer owns, operates and maintains a solar photovoltaic (PV) array on a host client's property. The host client purchases the generated electricity at a reduced rate from the solar services provider for a predetermined period. The financial arrangement allows the host client a level of predictability to hedge against rising utility costs by locking in a portion of their monthly operational costs. With significant price increases expected for electric rate tariffs, receiving all or some of a building's electricity at a low predictable rate can translate into significant savings. The host client has zero outlay of capital and can take advantage of the marketability of clean renewable energy. The developer benefits from the tax incentives and income generated from the sale of electricity. PPAs have become the most accessible way for businesses and non-profits to utilize solar energy.
The U.S. solar industry completed its 1 millionth installation in Q1 2016 and is on pace to hit 2 million installations in just 2 more years (SEIA.org). If you are eager to participate in the booming solar industry, Contact us.
